What are T- Drone surveys?
Techno Environment Drone surveys service are a faster, safer and more cost-efficient way to survey at height. Sometimes referred to as aerial surveys, UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) surveys, or UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) surveys, drone surveys are an increasingly popular method of surveying from the air.
For roof inspections, bridge or large building surveys, drones are fast becoming the sensible choice for engineers, construction and asset managers because they offer great advantages in safety and speed of access.
Techno Environment Investment Co. Was one of the very first Tanzanian GIS companies to realise the benefits of drone surveying. We remain one of the only professional surveying organisations using Quad Pro – the industry-leading drone used in thousands of remote inspections around the country.
Why use a T-Drone to survey?
In addition to building inspections, drone surveys are now established as a valuable approach to transmission tower and powerline surveying. By eliminating manual ‘at-height’ working, they greatly reduce risk and improve safety outcomes.
Drones can be deployed rapidly and allow asset managers to interrogate defects using ultra high definition 4k imaging. Our drones frequently provide fresh data on previously difficult to see areas; helping our customers to make quicker, assured decisions.
Our drones can capture high-definition video footage which provide a view from above without the cost of hiring a plane or helicopter. Drone surveys are also more affordable, quicker and pose fewer health and safety risks than setting up scaffolding and access platforms.
Drone services we offer
Thermal Surveys
Using DJI Matrice 30T, H30T, and Mavic 3 T platforms equipped with high-resolution thermal sensors, we conduct detailed heat-signature inspections for solar plants, industrial facilities, and building envelopes. Our thermal drone surveys detect energy loss, equipment faults, and overheating components, enhancing safety, efficiency, and preventive maintenance planning.
Indoor Surveys
Our advanced indoor inspection drones and 3D mapping workflows allow precise data collection in warehouses, factories, and confined infrastructure. By deploying stabilized DJI platforms and LiDAR payloads, we safely map inaccessible areas without scaffolding or human entry, reducing downtime and operational risk.
Condition and Roof Surveys
We deliver accurate, high-definition roof and asset condition surveys using DJI M350 RTK and Mavic 4 Enterprise drones with Zenmuse P1 and H30T sensors. These inspections identify structural defects, leaks, corrosion, and material deterioration—providing engineers and facility managers with actionable insights for maintenance and refurbishment.
Topographical Surveys
Leveraging the Zenmuse L1 & L2 LiDAR systems mounted on Matrice 350/400 RTK drones, we generate precise 3D topographic models and digital elevation data. This service supports engineering design, infrastructure planning, and environmental analysis with centimeter-level accuracy and rapid turnaround times.
Telecoms Site Surveys
Our DJI Matrice 210 RTK and Mavic 4 Enterprise drones perform safe, high-resolution tower inspections and site mapping for telecom infrastructure. We capture detailed imagery and LiDAR point clouds for antenna alignment, mast condition assessment, and line-of-sight analysis—reducing climb risks and improving reporting efficiency.
Overhead Powerline Surveys
Using DJI Matrice 400 RTK integrated with Zenmuse H30T and L2 LiDAR, we conduct detailed inspection and mapping of transmission and distribution lines. Our system detects vegetation encroachment, conductor sag, and structural anomalies, supporting predictive maintenance and compliance with energy-sector safety standards.
Volumetric Surveys
We employ DJI P1 and L2 payloads to generate accurate 3D surface models for stockpile and earthwork volume calculations. Ideal for mining, quarrying, and construction sites, our volumetric surveys provide precise material estimates, progress tracking, and audit-ready reports with minimal site disruption.
Agriculture Data Collection and Monitoring
Our Mavic 3 Multispectral and M350 RTK drones capture high-resolution multispectral and RGB imagery to monitor crop health, soil moisture, and vegetation indices. These data enable precision agriculture practices, optimizing input use, boosting yields, and supporting sustainable land-management decisions.
